Three of our new plugs + standard plugs [XLR microphone plug review]
New 3 types + standard plug XLR microphone plug review
This time we conducted sound tests using REAN plugs, a Neutrik subsidiary, and their phosphor bronze version, as well as a sample of our new product (made of phosphor bronze).
Although we do not use high-end equipment, the results are clear enough to hear, so we hope you will take a look.

1.REAN (Brass) RC3M-B RC3F-B
The high seems a little strong.
The overall balance is not bad, but you may feel like you want more bass. However, considering the price, it is a good value plug.
2.REAN (Phosphor Bronze) RC3M-B RC3F-B
The REAN XLR plugs are made of phosphorus bronze and specially made by Neutrik. The overall impression is that the sound is calm and well-balanced. The volume is slightly lower than that of the Neutrik plugs, which may be due to differences in structure. However, even when the volume is turned up to full, there is no distortion or peaking, giving the impression that the high tones are transmitted without loss.
3. NEUTRIK (made of brass)
It has a powerful sound with a strong output. The highs are lively and have a rock feel. There is an impression that there is a difference in output compared to the REAN plugs. Just as expected. However, when the volume is turned up to full, the highs become distorted and difficult to hear. There is a sense of imbalance somewhere. Is this the work of the brass or the structure?
4. ONKODO (made of phosphor bronze)
Of these, it has the best balance and the best sense of output. The high tones are not as pronounced as Neutrik's, so it feels like Neutrik has more output. The overall balance is good, and the sound is tight and easy to listen to. The ease of listening when the volume is turned up to full is overwhelming.
The above is my intuitive impression of the hearing test. I was relieved that the sound of the sample plugs was good. If it was bad, I would have had to make an additional investment.
It may look a bit awkward, but the performance is what you'd expect from AEC.
If you are interested, I would appreciate it if you could write your thoughts in the comments section.
The ONKODO XLR plug is scheduled to be released around summer.
We are also planning to purchase REAN phosphor bronze if we can come to an agreement on the price. Please let us know what you think.
